The 2022 LaGrange Classic Mountain Bike Race in Weaverville will be held from Saturday, June 4, 2022 through Saturday, June 11, 2022 in two formats. The Novice (8 mile) Course will be the venue of a virtual race over the week of June 4 -10. The other three courses, Elite, Sport and Intermediate, will be the sites of a traditional one-day race on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Event organizers, the Trinity Trail Alliance, are looking forward to presenting a pre-race downtown procession, a challenging one-day mountain bike race on the Weaver Basin Trail System and a celebration at Lowden Park in the afternoon. However, there will be some exciting changes.

Some new and thrilling trails have been added to the 29-mile Elite Course and the 26-mile Sport Course. These new sections were planned and constructed in 2021 and have become favorites among local and visiting bike riders. Each of these races will include an uphill push on the new Browder Trail and downhill thrills on the new Blue Lead Trail. Trinity Trail Alliance hopes by providing a more fun and challenging racing experience, riders will want to come back for more time on the trails. The 14-mile Intermediate Course will remain similar to last year.

Warm days and cool nights in the County are prime growing conditions, leading to now over 200 acres of commercial grapes in the area. Wineries with tasting rooms include Alpen Cellars, near Trinity Lake, Cavaletto Vineyard Estate on the Trinity River in Salyer, and One Maple Winery in Lewiston. Several other vineyards dot the landscape including Curvy Roads Kegged Wines, R. Merlo Estate Vineyards and Oliva Vineyard (owned by Sumner). The wineries are situated in rolling ranch lands and forests, making for a great driving excursion!
